One-Click Stop Loss and Take Profit Buttons for NinjaTrader 8

Three chart buttons that read your live position and place a stop or a target at your chosen distance — then clean up after themselves when you go flat.

You will also get the Monday macro read. Unsubscribe in one click. How we handle it.

One click arms the bracket: entry at market, stop and target placed together at your preset R multiple. The buttons live on the chart itself.

What it does

  • It knows which way you are positioned — Reads your live position and its direction, so the stop goes below a long and above a short. You never choose a side or type a price.
  • Refuses orders that would be rejected — A minimum distance setting blocks anything too close to the market, which is the usual cause of a rejected protective order in a fast move.
  • Cleans up when you go flat — When the position closes, the orders it placed are cancelled automatically. No stray stop left resting against a position you no longer hold.
  • Finds the right account on its own — Auto-detects the account with an open position on the instrument, falling back to Chart Trader's account, then the first connected one. Or name it explicitly.

The thirty seconds that cost you

You are in a position and it moves against you. You want a stop on it. So you work out the price, open the order entry, pick the side, check you have not inverted it, and submit — while the thing you are trying to protect against is happening.

The decision was made before you entered. The typing is what takes the time.

What the buttons do

Place SL reads your current position, works out the price from your default tick distance, and submits a stop on the correct side. Place TP does the same with a limit. Cancel All clears what it placed.

You set the distances once. After that it is one click, and the direction is never wrong because the tool reads the position rather than asking you.

Two details that matter more than the speed

It will not place an order too close to price. Protective orders get rejected when they sit inside the spread or too near the market — exactly when you need them. The minimum distance setting refuses those before they are sent.

It cancels its own orders when you go flat. A stop left resting after a position has closed is not harmless: it is a live order that can open a new position in the wrong direction. The tool watches for the position going flat and cancels what it placed.

It submits live orders

That is the point of it, and it is also the warning. Test it on a simulation account until you trust it.

It only ever acts on a position you already hold. It will not open one, and it does not decide anything — the distances are yours, the entry was yours, and it is holding the keyboard rather than the wheel.
